If so, this is a great opportunity to work with clients who want to create positive change in their life.About the Role We are currently seeking applications for the permanent part-time role (45 hours per fortnight/3 days per week) of Counsellor / Community Educator located at our Mackay venue-Gambling Help Service.The purpose of the Counsellor and Community Educator role is to provide a high standard of gambling counselling to individuals, couples and families, and to promote greater public awareness about the social issues associated with problem gambling through the provision of information to specific target groups and the community.The key responsibilities of this position include:Provide therapeutic counselling to reduce the impact and severity of those affected by problem gamblingProvide community education interventions and education to raise awareness about the impacts of gamblingProvide information, education and facilitate workshops to identify and respond to problem gambling in the communityBuild partnerships with key RAQ - Gambling Help Services (GHS) stakeholdersEnsure clear referral pathways for people accessing RAQ gambling help servicesWorkdays/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant, however, please note that some flexibility may be required depending on operational requirement, with some flexibility needed in order to meet business requirements.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will have: Relevant undergraduate qualifications in behavioral science, psychology, counselling or social workDemonstrated experience working therapeutically with addiction, specifically gambling, in a variety of settings (e.g. individuals, couples, families and groups)Have knowledge of and the ability to apply relevant legislation and regulations relating to relationships counselling.The salary being offered is circa $73,554 to $88,159 per annum pro rata, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.What We Can Offer YouFamily friendly work placeA great work environment with a positive cultureRegular clinical supervision providedWork-life balance and flexible working hoursAdditional annual leave over the Christmas period, annual leave loading and study leaveA supportive team environment and opportunity for professional developmentGenerous salary packaging options available of up to $15,900 per annumHow to Apply Applications can be submitted by clicking the Apply Now button.
