About UsRelationships Australia Queensland (RAQ) is a leading provider of relationship and family support services.  We believe healthy relationships are essential for the well-being of children, families and communities.  We are committed to offering the best possible counselling, mediation, education and support services, and are committed to social justice and inclusion.We are currently seeking applications for a permanent full-time role (37.5 hours per week) of Community Education and Development Officer located at our Cairns venue.The purpose of this role is to promote the services offered by the Family Relationship Centre by developing and delivering relevant educational programs and building relationships with local stakeholders. The key responsibilities of this position include:Actively promote the Family Relationship Centre and its services within the local communityDevelop and deliver a variety of innovative educational programs and events to meet the needs of families at all different stages of relationshipsWork with local media in service area locations to strengthen relationships and distribute RAQ endorsed media materialsActively participate in outreach of the Family Relationship Centre services to the designated regionsIn consultation with the Team Leader, conduct systematic evaluation and research into the effectiveness of the education and outreach programs, and develop strategies to ensure that as far as possible, the services develops in accordance with the needs of the local community.Work days/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant, however please note that the position holder will be required to work an evening shift (11:30am to 8pm) up to once a week, with some flexibility needed in order to meet business requirements.To be successful in this position, you willHold a relevant undergraduate qualification in social or behavioural sciences, psychology, counselling, social work or community development.Have understanding of theoretical frameworks and models of adult education and community development paired with the ability to develop resources and material suitable for distribution internally and externally.This salary is between $76,947 – $90,363, plus superannuation and generous salary packaging options where eligible which will significantly increase the value of take-home pay.How to ApplyTo apply, send us your resume and a cover letter, outlining your demonstrated experience in each area.
