This is a fixed term contract for parental leave coverage until October 2023.The purpose of this role is to assist with the activities of the CCS, which helps facilitate contact arrangements, supports children and their family members during changeovers or supervised visits, and provides a safe and secure environment for the child/ren.The key responsibilities of this position include:Apply theoretical models of supportive human interaction, developmental stages of children, conflict resolution, and other relevant frameworks when working with children and parents, whilst maintaining child inclusive practiceUndertake assessment and intake processes, including parent interviews, explanation of safety procedures, and familiarisation visits for childrenOrganise a safe and appropriate environment, and activities for children that maximise parent/child interaction and engage children in an interesting, calming and positive mannerEvaluate the effectiveness of interventions for parents and children accessing CCS, assess the future need of the family in managing the ongoing parental relationship, and refer parents to appropriate services and programs as required.Please note that the successful applicant will be required to work regular evening and weekend work in addition to ordinary hours of work to meet CCS program requirements.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will have as follows:Possess appropriate tertiary qualifications in the social or behavioural sciences, with studies in child development being essential.Demonstrated experience working with children and their parents/carers and have theoretical knowledge of the issues regarding child development, abuse and/or neglect;Experience working with people in crisis and/or parents in conflict.In addition, you will have possession of, or willingness to obtain a First Aid & CPR certificate.What We Can Offer YouThe salary being offered is circa $76,947.00 to $88,023.00 per annum (pro rata for part-time), to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.
