About UsRelationships Australia Queensland (RAQ) is a leading provider of relationship and family support services.  We believe healthy relationships are essential for the well-being of children, families and communities.  About the RoleWe are currently seeking applications for the permanent full-time role (37.5 hours per week) of Children's Contact Service (CCS) Coordinator located at our Cairns venue.The purpose of this position is to coordinate the activities of the CCS, which helps facilitate contact arrangements, supports children and their family members during changeovers or supervised visits, and provides a safe and secure environment for the children.The key responsibilities of this position include:Organise a safe and appropriate environment, and activities for children that maximise parent/child interaction and engage children in an interesting, calming and positive manner.Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for parents and children accessing CCS, assess the future need of the family in managing the ongoing parental relationship, and refer parents to appropriate services and programs as required.Network through regular community liaison and represent the CCS at meetings relevant to this service.Assist in the development and evaluation of CCS policies and guidelines.Oversee and coordinate (provide debriefing, support and direction) Family Support Workers, ensuring that the service operates within RAQ policies and guidelines.In consultation with the Team Leader and Regional Manager, drive recruitment and selection processes for vacancies, ensuring positions are filled in a timely manner.In consultation with Human Resources and venue management, manage employees’ performance issues, identifying these issues as early as possible.Work days/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant, however please note that the position holder will be required to work weekends (alternate Saturday and Sunday shifts) and an evening (11am – 7pm), with some flexibility, to meet the CCS program requirements. Weekend work attracts generous penalty rates.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will possessappropriate undergraduate tertiary qualifications the social or behavioural sciences, with studies in child development essential.have demonstrated experience working with children and their parents/carerstheoretical knowledge of the issues regarding child development, abuse and/or neglect; andexperience working with people in crisis and/or parents in conflict.experience and skills in staff management, time management and managing caseloads.have knowledge and application of relevant legislation and regulations relating to family law and/or children’s contact issues.The salary being offered is $76,947 to $90,363 per annum, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.What We Can Offer YouWork-life balance and flexible working hoursAdditional leave over the Christmas period, annual leave loading and study leaveA supportive team environment and opportunity for professional developmentSalary packaging options available of up to $15,900, which will significantly increase the value of take-home payPaid parental leave and additional benefits such as medical insurance discountsHow to ApplyTo apply, send us your resume and a cover letter, outlining your demonstrated experience in each area.
