About the Role
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on your community? Relationships Australia Queensland (RAQ) is seeking a dedicated Intensive Family Support (IFS) Case Worker to join our team based from our Townsville venue. This is a full-time role (75 hours a fortnight).
As an Intensive Family Support (IFS) Case Worker with RAQ, you’ll play a vital role in supporting vulnerable families across the Greater Townsville Region. Working with children from unborn to 18 years and their families, you’ll use a systematic, strengths-based case management approach to empower families, build resilience, and help keep children safe and cared forâultimately preventing their entry or re-entry into the Child Protection statutory system.
Additionally, you will:
Deliver intensive, child-centered, and family-focused case management that strengthens families’ capacity to create safe and nurturing environments for children.
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify family strengths, needs, and risks, and develop tailored action plans that address these areas.
Work collaboratively with local service providers and networks to coordinate support, facilitate referrals, and ensure families have access to the services they need.
Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
Commit to ongoing professional development and reflective practice through regular supervision, training, and participation in team planning.
About You

Your approach is empathetic, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive, and you’re committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and care.
Additionally, you have:
Relevant Undergraduate qualification in Behavioural Science, Psychology, or Social Work/Community Development or Education.
Experience engaging with families from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people of all genders, bodies, and abilities.
You’re an excellent communicatorâboth written and verbalâand can quickly build trust and rapport with children, parents, and service partners.
You can juggle competing priorities, manage your caseload effectively, and maintain meticulous records.
You hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence and are ready to go the extra mile to help families access the support they need.
We Can Offer You
The salary is being offered between $84,000.00 to $98,000.00 per annum, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation. We also offer our employees as follows:
