About the role
Join Relationships Australia Queensland as our Gambling Help Service (GHS) Statewide Community Support Officer, based at our Ipswich office in a full-time, permanent, and hybrid role. Using a public health approach, you will promote harm minimisation strategies and increase awareness of gambling-related harm by developing, supporting, and promoting Gambling Help digital content and regional community events through the Gambling Help Queensland (GHQ) website. This role is pivotal in building partnerships, supporting statewide projects, and ensuring the delivery of effective community education and engagement across Queensland.
Additionally, you will:
Work within a harm minimisation framework to promote greater public awareness of the social issues associated with gambling.
Collaborate with the RAQ GHS Strategic Lead to identify and build partnerships with key stakeholders, including community, government, and the gaming industry.
Update, promote, and maximise the organisational potential of the GHQ website, including the events calendar, in collaboration with the RAQ Communications team.
Promote clear referral pathways for individuals accessing gambling help services and support the creation of youth-focused resources.
Support statewide GHS projects and ensure Community Support outputs are met across funded regions.
Monitor and maintain GHS Community Education/Engagement and Communication Plans, ensuring consistency with RAQ’s statewide approach.
About you

Additionally, you have:
A relevant undergraduate qualification in Behavioural Science, Psychology, or Social Work/Community Development (postgraduate qualification highly regarded).
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering education and awareness programs, with a strong understanding of adult education and community development frameworks.
Proven ability to engage with a wide range of community sectors and build key stakeholder relationships.
Knowledge of adult learning principles, community engagement strategies, and theoretical frameworks relevant to community development.
High-level competency in Microsoft Office, email, and web-based programs, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications.
