Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7in_MHcx0Uw&t=2sPermanent part time hours (30 hours per week)Individual counselling and support, referral and group workProvide the Townsville First Nations community affected by family violence with culturally informed interventions that support healthy relationship patterns, change violent and abusive behaviour patterns, and ensure safety. The role focusses on specialist Family Violence (FV) service delivery, including:Community development strategies that increase awareness about what Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) is and its impact on people, relationships and cultureMaintaining a strong understanding of intergenerational trauma relevant to First Nations people Increasing safety and wellbeing for men, women and children within these communitiesThe service has been co-designed by the community and is for people who use patterns of power and control in relationships, and those who are experiencing the impact of domestic and family violence. This includes:Complex case managementDelivery of community development strategiesA strong understanding of intergenerational trauma relevant to Australia’s First Nations peopleWork within cultural frameworksImprove safety and empowerment for people who experience family violence, including childrenAbout YouTo be considered for this, ideally you will have as follows:Undergraduate level qualifications in Social or Behavioural SciencesExtensive experience applying frameworks to build healthy relationships with Australia’s First Nations peopleAn understanding that workers, based on their gender, may work in the areas of men’s business and/or women’s business in accordance with cultural expectationsAn Understanding of trauma-informed practice, family and ecological systemsWhat We Can Offer YouThe salary being offered is between $84,426.28 to $98,658.16 per annum, pro rata for part time, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.
