We are seeking a dedicated Elder Abuse Practitioner to join our Rockhampton & Gladstone teams in a part time capacity (37.5 hours a fortnight), to provide exceptional case management and support to individuals, couples, and families impacted by elder abuse. This critical role involves raising awareness within the community about the signs and prevention of elder abuse while contributing to the development and delivery of the Seniors Financial Protection Service Program (SFPS). With a focus on safeguarding older persons from financial exploitation, this position offers an opportunity to drive meaningful change and empower vulnerable members of our community.This role and balances two key components - Case Management and Community Education. You’ll blend these approaches to own the end to end program participation in your area.Case Management– By getting a deep understanding of the clients circumstances, you’ll make referrals and recommendation to services that help build a network of services, connections and support.Community education â€“ A key to the programs success and engagement will be education initiatives that promote and raise knowledge of signs of elder abuse. Counselling experience and qualifications are an advantage.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will have:Undergraduate level qualifications in social or behavioural sciencesDemonstrated experience in working with clients in a variety of settings and applying a case management framework within complex cases. Demonstrated previous experience in delivering case management and/or counselling to the clients affected by elder abuse is highly desiredDemonstrated experience providing counselling in a variety of settings, for example individuals, couples, children, young people, families, and groups.Demonstrated experience in financial counselling.What We Can Offer YouThe salary being offered is between $84,000.00 to $98,000.00 per annum, pro rata for part time, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.
