To find out more, visit http://careers.raq.org.au/job-search/About the RoleWe’re accepting applications for a part time (37.5 hours per fortnight) permanent position of Domestic and Family Violence Counsellor working at our Rockhampton venue. The roles work with victims of domestic and family violence, and develop and deliver community development strategies aimed at increasing awareness about the effects of domestic violence.The main responsibilities of these roles include:Utilise Relationships Australia Qld Models of Service Delivery, including the Duluth Model when conducting group facilitation and counselling, and when engaging the clients partnersProvide crisis intervention and individual counselling to individuals as requiredRole model appropriate and respectful communicationApply understanding of risk assessment and safety planningWork with mentors and co-facilitators to develop the program to be culturally inclusive of male participantsLink group participants to other services as necessary and maintain close connections with all relevant services in the local regionAbout YouExperience in child counselling, domestic and family violence counselling or service coordination is advantageous.Minimum requirements A relevant tertiary qualification in the social or behavioural sciencesDemonstrated knowledge experience working with clients in a crisis situationThe ability to apply current theory and best practice relating to domestic and family violenceHow To applyClick Apply to submit your application outlining your experience in the areas mentioned in this advertisement. Applications close Sunday 1 November 2020 at 5.00pm.HR - PD - DFV Counsellor AUD Rockhampton
