You will create and maintain a secure, child-focused environment, support children and parents through challenging transitions, and ensure all interactions are trauma-informed and child-inclusive. Your responsibilities include applying theoretical models of child development and supportive human interaction, conducting comprehensive assessments and intake processes, and maintaining confidentiality and duty of care—especially regarding child safety, domestic and family violence, and other risk factors.You will also evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, adapt strategies as needed, and assess ongoing and future needs, including the potential for referrals to internal or external support programs. Additionally, you will maintain accurate client files, case notes, and risk management documentation, and keep the client information system up to date for effective bookings. The role requires engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure child safety is always prioritised, particularly where risks or concerns are identified.Work days and hours are negotiable, but you must be available to work alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am–5:00pm) and some evenings (10:00am–6:00pm), with flexibility to meet program requirements. Generous penalty rates apply for weekend work.Additionally, you will:Meet with children when appropriate to assess service suitability, plan for visits and changeovers, and seek feedback to incorporate the child’s voice into service planning and evaluation.Support a safe, appropriate environment that enables parents/carers to engage with their children in a child-focused, positive, and secure manner.Understand and meet all legislative and funding requirements, including accurate and timely collection and recording of statistical and observational data.Demonstrate ongoing commitment to supervision and professional development as required by organisational policy and procedure.Be receptive to feedback and apply reflective practice to continually improve professional skills and service delivery.About YouYou are a responsive, enthusiastic team player who is deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.
